calculating reach
I do not understand how you compute reach. For example one search since restarting got 3 tweets with followers 48, 148, and 30. You report the reach within 24 hours was 15k. I have having a hard time getting 15k together with the number of followers. So I assume that is not the right calculation, but it would be very useful to know what the calculation is.

Inappropriate? That is the correct way that we calculate reach. It appears that we might not be calculating it correctly and are looking into it. We'll reply here once it has been resolved or more information is available.
I’m confused

Inappropriate? After looking at our code, and seeing what was being stored, I believe that this is a two part problem. I also think it'll work itself out on its own over the next 24 hours.
The first part of the problem is how we were handling the timestamps for that data: we were using the time that we added a tweet vs the tweets actual timestamp. Because of this (and problem part #2), values from when we were catching up were getting added to todays 24 hour reach when in fact, the tweet could have been a few days old. I've already deployed the bug fix for this.
We are going to monitor this closely, but you should expect the values to be correct within the next 24 hours.
I’m hopeful
